Response to Covid-19
RESPONSE TO COVID-19
The Barnes Fund (Barnes Workhouse Fund) is committed to supporting the community of Barnes and will continue to do so through these challenging times.
REFERRAL AGENCIES:
We recognise that you are supporting some of the most vulnerable members of the Barnes community, whose lives may become more challenging in the current circumstances. We will continue to run our individual grants programme. In situations of exceptional crisis, in which applicants have already reached the annual maximum threshold (£500) we may be able to consider an increase in this amount. We acknowledge that your assessments may be via the phone and not in person, and if you require a copy of the application form to send to applicants in advance to make this easier please get in touch. We may also be able to offer flexibility in terms of payments. Whilst white goods, carpets, fuel bills will continue to be paid directly to providers, we recognise that some flexibility might need to be made in terms of payment of crisis grants (which are normally made through Tesco Giftcards).
FUNDED ORGANISATIONS:
We will continue to support the voluntary sector in supporting the community of Barnes. We recognise that you may need to adapt your services in the current climate and we would welcome an update on how you will be working to continue to support your service users. We will be flexible and supportive in our approach to changes of delivery, where we are funding particular activities. The strength of the voluntary sector is at its greatest when working together and we continue to value a collaborative approach to best support the needs of the community.
